BGP Bloggpost 1

My name is Stefan Strandberg and I am the Lead Graphical Artist on our game Causality. Causality is a soulslike third person action RPG. It takes place in a fantasy world with some design references from 18th century england.

We are aiming for a challenging and atmospheric game where you need to read your opponents moves and act accordingly to survive. Our vertical slice will be a single challenging boss fight, there will be a corridor where the player can get acquainted with the controls, the corridor leads to a room where you fight the boss.

My first job on the project was the main character which i made together with another graphical artist on the course before BGP (Big Game Project). The collaboration went well and we succeeded in getting the character together in time for the start of BGP. One problem we noticed afterward was that we had forgotten to remove some ”Ngons” (polygons with more than four vertices). This lead to that we had to redo the skinning (skinning is when you set up which parts of the mesh moves with the different bones you have set in the rigging).
